Our Mission

To offer young girls ages 6 to 14 the opportunity to participate in an all girl’s hockey celebration that will foster their love for hockey while contributing to their personal development.

We want to connect the Future Stars of hockey with the Current Stars of our Game and give them the opportunity to meet successful role models in sports and academics that represent our Olympians and members of Les Canadiennes de Montréal.

The Girls Hockey Celebration is a not for profit organization created in 2014 by Olympian Caroline Ouellette to promote and develop female hockey.

We offer to each team:

– 1 on-ice skill development session with coaches from the National team and the CWHL Montreal Les Canadiennes.
– 1 on-ice goalie development session for our goaltenders.
– 1 development session for coaches.
– Conferences and autograph/picture sessions with our Olympians throughout the event.
– Showcase game with the CWHL Montreal Les Canadiennes de Montréal.

Eligibility

We accept team registrations as well as individual player registration. We will form teams with individual player registrations.

Olympians

Olympians Charline Labonté, Kim St-Pierre, Marie-Philip Poulin, Lauriane Rougeau, Mélodie Daoust, France St-Louis, Catherine Ward and Julie Chu have been part of the Celebration in our previous editions.

Testimonials

I wanted to write while the girls are still so excited from the weekend. I can’t tell you how important this event was for them.

Today you presented a Player of the Game award to Toby, and I think it was the proudest moment in her life. She is so inspired by you and your teammates, and I think for the rst time, she feels lucky to be a girl in hockey and no longer jealous of the boys with NHL dreams.

This weekend I saw her play with more intensity than in all her years playing with boys, and I’m sure it’s because of the very special atmosphere. You are giving these girls such a fantastic opportunity. Congratulations on an amazing event!

(Also, I should mention that as a parent, I so appreciated your message about getting good grades in school!)

My younger daughter participated in the try hockey program and my older daughter competed in the hockey festival. She is a goalie on the pee wee A team for the Canadienne de Montréal.

I would like to thank you and the many people who helped organized the hock- ey weekend. It was a fantastic experience. I would also like to thank you for taking the initiative to both put the spotlight on girls hockey and contribute to the development of girls hockey in Quebec.

You and the other women on the Montreal Stars who participated in the week- end provided such great mentorship to the girls. It is quite inspirational.
