Quebec Hockey Camp, July 2-3 2016

Jul 8, 2016

The first Caroline Ouellette hockey camp of the summer was held on July 2nd and 3rd in St-Augustin near Quebec city. Olympians Julie Chu, Noémie Marin, Caroline Ouellette and Marie-Philip Poulin were part of the coaching staff. They were joined by Marie-Pier Coulombe and Andréa Parenteau from Cégep LimoilouJudyane Bernier from Cegep Rimouski and Sophie Gagnon from Concordia university.

In all, 47 players aged from 7 to 17 took part in the camp as part of our regular and elite groups. Daily, players took part in an off-ice training session with a focus on developing strength, speed, agility and power as well as an in class session where our Olympians shared their journey through sport.

Our focus is on individual skills. We begin with skating technique, the most important individual skill in hockey, for the first part of the session, then puck skills. Stick handling, deception and dekes.
Through station work, we then focus on passing, shooting, puck protection and transition skating. We finish with small space games and competitive games.

Later in the day 21 adults (men and women) of beginner or intermediate level took part in our adult camp. The group energy was remarkable as well as the desire to improve. It’s never too late to start hockey or to perfect your skills. The adults worked very hard! Our coaching staff appreciated the very rewarding experience of leading passionate hockey players. The St-Augustin Complex was perfect to host our camp. We hope that all participants enjoyed their experience.

Join Olympians Caroline Ouellette, Julie Chu, Charline LabontéMare-Philip Poulin, Noémie Marin for our next summer camp on July 29 to 31 in Montréal. The camp is offered to players of house and elite caliber. We also offer an adult camp on July 30th and 31st for men and women.
